Celebrating its 90th Anniversary in 2017, Metropolis influenced pop culture and many sci-fi films thereafter. With tens of thousands of extras, vast sets, groundbreaking special effects, and over one million dollars spent (in 1927!), this film is a sci-fi visual masterpiece.

Ray Fuller, known for many hit recordings and world tours with iconic artists such as Whitney Houston, Anita Baker, George Duke, Quincy Jones, Natalie Cole and Yolanda Adams, takes center stage with his All Star friends for an exciting evening of Soul, Jazz and Gospel in honor of Black History Month.

Alan Chan Jazz Orchestra-Free Performance! (Feb 10, 3:00pm)
During the Lunar New Year Festival, join us inside the Playhouse for a free performance from the Alan Chan Jazz Orchestra! Founded in 2011, the 17 piece orchestra “…is a well oiled machine and one that moves and acts like no other…” (allaboutjazz.com). Born and raised in Hong Kong, Composer/Conductor Chan’s compositions draw on elements of both European classical music and the sounds of his Chinese heritage.
Debapriya, Samanwaya, & Subrata (Mar 17, 6:00pm)
Enjoy a night of classical Indian music with Debapriya Adhikary (vocalist), Samanwaya Sarkar (sitar), and Subrata Bhattacharya (tabla). A part of the Playhouse’s Global Flavors series, patrons will also get a taste of India by adding a pre-paid dinner to a ticket purchase for a delicious Indian vegetarian meal.
