The Asian Pacific American Festival comes to a close Saturday, May 26th at 6:30pm with a Signature Event.
Artists from the Perfect Harmony Cultural Exchange Association will perform excerpts from famous Cantonese Operas including The Peony Pavilion. Stories collected from our community will be dramatized on stage by directors Ray Rochelle (San Gabriel Valley Music Theatre) and John Miyasaki (Here and Now Theatre Company). Actress and former East West Players Education Director Marilyn Tokuda will direct Tam Tran Goes To Washington, the true story of a Vietnamese refugee who spoke before Congress in 2010 in support of the DREAM Act. The event also includes a tribute to March Fong Eu, five-time California Secretary of State.
