Concertino (Free Community Concert!)

The Olympia Philharmonic Society presents Concertino, a free community concert, Sunday afternoon, January 12th at 3:00pm featuring the Olympia Youth Orchestra performing with the Cal State LA Symphony Orchestra. 

Conducted by Fung Ho (pictured left), Concertino is the world premiere of Concertino for Violin and Orchestra, a composition by Masatoshi Mitsumoto, presenting violin soloist Jeongwon Claire An (1st Place Winner of the American String Teachers Association California State Competition).

The rest of the program will include works by Beethoven (the famous Fifth Symphony, Fate), Haydn, Korngold and Weber. In addition, soloists Hannah Kim (violinist, Grand Prize Winner of the American String Teachers Association Los Angeles Competition), and Jasmine Lam (cellist, Principal Cellist of the orchestra as well as of the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts) will be featured.
