Summer in San Gabriel Series: Free Outdoor Concert with The Elliott Caine Quintet

June 20 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Artist Elliott Caine

Join us at beautiful Playhouse Plaza for the first of two free outdoor summer concerts at the Mission Playhouse featuring The Elliott Caine Quintet, Thursday evening, June 20th at 7:00pm! Influenced by artists from Art Blakey and The Jazz Messengers to Tito Puente and Mongo Santamaria, come for a night of Bebop, Boogaloo, and Latin Jazz.

Latin Beat Magazine described Elliott Caine as “one of the West Coast’s finest trumpeters.” Cadence Magazine described him “as a fire-breathing trumpeter in the lineage of Freddie Hubbard and Lee Morgan and his band is just as sharp.” Elliott has performed and/or recorded with Teddy Edwards, Barbara Morrison, Wyclef Jean, Beck, and The Beastie Boys. His original compositions have been heard on programs including The Oprah Winfrey Show and Late Night with David Letterman.

Joining Elliott (trumpet, bandleader) are Scott Gilman (tenor saxophone), Michael Boito (piano), Michael Alvidrez (bass) and Thomas White (drums).

Parking is free. We provide fold up chairs (first come, first served). You can bring your own chair if you’d like.

Our next summer concert will take place on July 11th at 7:00pm with The Amanda Castro Band.
