The Story of Ramona

September 23 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

The Mission Playhouse and Heidi Duckler Dance Theatre present The Story of Ramona, Sunday evening, September 23rd at 7:00pm (additional performances September 7th & September 16th).

Choreographer Heidi Duckler’s new site specific work for the Playhouse is based on the American novel Ramona written by Helen Hunt Jackson in 1884. The story is set in Southern California after the Mexican-American War and illustrates the racial discrimination and hardship of a mixed-race Scots-Native American orphan girl born in San Gabriel. This work features Heidi Duckler Dance’s core company dancers, live music by Chris Garcia and members from the San Gabriel community.

**Please Note** We recommend wearing comfortable shoes since you’ll be following the dancers as they move throughout our theater and scenic grounds.
