SAN GABRIEL MISSION PLAYHOUSE

SAN GABRIEL, CALIFORNIA 91776
Based on 18 years of original research by Dr. Leonor Xochitl Perez, this important exhibit shows how women have been actively engaged professional mariachi musicians for more than 100 years. It brings to life their formerly silent voices and of those who continue to engage in this music today, providing a new perspective as it unveils a cohesive but untold story of passion, respect, and influence of women on this important Mexican cultural form.
