Pure Imagination comes to life on the Mission Playhouse stage in Roald Dahl’s scrumptious story of the world-famous candy maker Willy Wonka and his golden ticket adventure to find an heir to his factory, Saturday afternoon, August 4th at 1:00pm & 3:00pm.
Fun for the entire family, Willy Wonka Jr. features new enchanting songs along with classics from the 1971 film starring Gene Wilder such as Pure Imagination, I’ve Got A Golden Ticket, The Candy Man, Cheer Up Charlie, and Think Positive!
San Gabriel Valley Music Theatre’s production of Roald Dahl’s Willy Wonka Jr. stars the acting students of “Summer Stock for Students”; SGVMT’s musical theatre conservatory. The production team includes Christopher Walker (Director), Rikki Lugo (Choreographer), Elder C. Timbol (Music Director), Amber Chien (Assistant Choreographer), and Viviana Castellanos (Production / Creative Assistant). It is produced by Bobby Hundley and Ray Rochelle.

“Summer Stock for Students” is part of SGVMT’s educational outreach program the Broadway Locker which aims to better prepare students to take control of their careers in the theatre arts by providing tools and training not normally taught in traditional school drama programs. This program is supported in part with funds received from The Pasadena Tournament of Roses® Foundation, the Pasadena Showcase House for the Arts (PSHA), and in part, by the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors through the Los Angeles County Arts Commission.
