World Premiere! Levy, Weiniawski, Mendelssohn & Beethoven (Free Event)

fung16 (1)CalState LA Symphony & Olympia Youth Orchestra are delighted to bring you yet another World Premiere orchestral work in another remarkable collaboration with world class musicians.

Frank Levy‘s Concertante Divertimento for Viola, Piano and String Orchestra will receive its first public performance in the beautiful surroundings of the Mission Playhouse and feature Brett Deubner on viola and Inna Faliks on piano.

The special prize winner at the 2015 Annual ASTA-LA String Competition, 11 year old Alexander Fried, will also be performing as soloist in the 1st movement of the Weiniawski 2nd Violin Concerto.  Other pieces include Mendelssohn’s Overture to A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Beethoven’s 7th Symphony will finish off the concert after the intermission.
